Search Tips
In General
Make sure the search terms are spelled correctly. In addition to Search, both the Site Map and the Site Index may be used.
Capitalization
Lower-case words will match any case. So, searching for term would match term, Term and TERM, whereas searching for Term will only match Term.
Multiple Words
Using multiple words will return more refined results than a single word. So, search term would return more relevant results than term.
Phrases
Use quotation marks, like "search term", to match a phrase. Without the quotation marks the results will include all words, but in any order or anywhere in the page.
Plus (+) and Minus (-)
Both plus and minus can precede a term (without in between space). Plus means the term or phrase must appear in the results. Minus means it must be excluded. So, +search -term would match pages with the word search and without the word term.
Wildcard Character (*)
The asterisk (*) is used as a wildcard character and can expand the number of matches for a particular request. So,
- sear* would match sear, searce, search, searcher, and any word starting from sear, while
- *ear* would match afteryears, earth, hear, search, and any word containing ear.
