Abstract

Shape Grammars and Expert Systems are introduced and discussed; their similarities are outlined. An interactive application is specified for defining and executing several shape grammars and storing the resulting languages. Its core consists of a shape grammar shell able to port any set of shape rules. The possibility of processing the resulting languages is examined, and a simple model of a graphic interface is implemented to demonstrate the main features of the application. Possible future developments are hinted at.
